Azeri government acquires quarters for Consulate General in Kars

The Azerbaijani government achieved preliminary agreement with Turkey on allocation of quarters for the Consulate General in Kars.

In accordance with the agreement, the Consulate General will locate in the center of the city near the residence of the governor, Trend reports referring to Hassan Zeynalov, the Azerbaijani Consul General in Kars. Zeynalov also mentioned that the quarter, which was in the disposal of the Turkish Health Ministry during long time, needs overhaul repair. The process will gain official character soon.

The Azerbaijan Consulate General functions in Kars from September 2004. It located at Dostlug Street in one of the private villas so far. The Azerbaijani government wanted to acquire the building, where the first consulate of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic located, but it was impossible, as the building is a private property.
