Baku Bus routes adjusted for COP29 to ease traffic and boost safety

During the international COP29 conference held in our country, several regular bus routes will have changes in their movement patterns and final stops on November 3 between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, Azernews reports citing Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency (AYNA).

This is to optimize traffic management in the capital, ensure the safe and orderly organization of urban transport, and provide convenience for commuters.

Here is the list of affected bus routes:

• Buses operating in the residential areas of Mammadli, Buzovna, Mashtaga, Bilgah, Nardaran, Ramana, Balakhani settlements, and Albaliliq, Savalan (route 139) will go from Zabrat Highway along the Balakhani road to the “Ulduz” metro station.

• Buses from Badamdar, Lokbatan, and Bayil settlements, the Yasamal Residential Complex, Yeni Yasamal residential area, the 9th microdistrict, and the Baku International Bus Terminal Complex towards the city center will operate up to the “Elml?r Akademiyas?” metro station.

• Buses from Sabunchu railway station to the Bakikhanov settlement and “Neftchilar” metro station will follow Asif Asadullayev and Yaver Aliyev streets.

• Buses from Ramana settlement and Sabunchu railway station towards Gara Garayev Avenue will take the Balakhani road.

• The bus from the “Darnagul” metro station to Sabunchu railway station will operate via the Balakhani road.

• Buses from “Darnagul” metro station to Badamdar settlement and from Yeni Yasamal residential area to the “ASAN Service” center No. 7 will travel along Sh. Mehdiyev, H. Aliyev, S. Vurgun, Mardanov Brothers, and Bakikhanov streets, while in the reverse direction, they will use N. Yusifbayli, S. Vurgun, H. Aliyev, and Sh. Mehdiyev streets.

Additionally, considering the anticipated increase in traffic near COP29 conference venues, some bus routes will have their final stops modified to reduce congestion and ensure safe and efficient transport for residents and visitors.
