University students in England will have to pay higher tuition fees starting next year, Azernews reports.

Tuition fees, which have remained unchanged for many years, will rise to £9,535 after an 8-year freeze.

Additionally, student housing loans for day-to-day living expenses will increase by 3.2%, providing students with an extra £414 per year in financial support. This increase is intended to help students cover both tuition and living costs.
Nevertheless, the rise in tuition fees is a serious concern in the country. According to a BBC study conducted earlier this year, around 1.8 million people in England have student debt of at least £50,000.

It should be noted that the increase in tuition fees will affect students studying in England, but does not apply to Scottish students studying in Scotland. The Scottish National Party introduced free education in Scotland in 2008. Under this policy, Scottish universities receive funding to cover student tuition costs, making higher education free for Scottish citizens.
