Azerbaijan National Art Museum has hosted an enchanting chamber music concert.
This concert was part of the "Music in the Museum" project, organized by the Azerbaijan Culture Ministry in partnership with the Azerbaijan National Art Museum.
During the concert, soprano Farida Mammadova and pianist Yulia Karimova introduced their new initiative called "Meridians," curated by renowned photographer Agdes Baghirzade.
The "Meridians" program presents a variety of musical works from different countries, showcasing the rich contrasts in character and emotion within the music.
The audience enjoyed a selection of works from Scandinavian composers like Edvard Grieg and Jean Sibelius, whose melodies and harmonies created a calm and reflective atmosphere.
In contrast, the fiery Spanish rhythms and folk influences from composers such as Manuel de Falla and Javier Montsalvatge brought a vibrant energy to the performance.
This blend of musical styles left memorable impression on all who were present.
Founded in 1937, the National Art Museum offers art connoisseurs some of the best examples of decorative-applied arts of Western Europe.
Over 3,000 items in 60 rooms are on permanent display at the museum, and around 12,000 items are kept in storage. Here, you can see masterpieces of the Italian, French, German, and Polish masters of brush.
The museum has successfully organised and hosted numerous high-level international exhibitions, showcasing the works of renowned artists. These exhibitions have not only attracted art enthusiasts but have also contributed to the cultural exchange between Azerbaijan and other countries.
