OIC backs Iran's right to peaceful nuclear technology

"We recognize the right of all countries to use nuclear power for peaceful purposes. All nations must respect the IAEA's rules on the nonproliferation of nuclear weapons. Within these boundaries, we recognize Iran's right to peaceful nuclear technology," he said, Interfax-Azerbaijan reports.

The OIC stands for a peaceful solution to the impasse over Iran's nuclear program, he said.

"On the whole, we want the entire Middle East region to be a nuclear-free area," Ihsanoglu said.
