Azeri FM meets UN Secretary-General

Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov has met the UN Secetary-General Ban Ki-Moon within the scope of his visit to the United States.

The meeting focused on cooperation between Azerbaijan and the United Nations, APA reports.

Azeri Minister said that Azerbaijan prefers a peaceful negotiated solution to the conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia, mentioning that the UN resolutions on unconditional withdrawal of Armenian armed forces from Azeri lands have remained unimplemented.

He invited the Secretary General to Azerbaijan on behalf of Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev. Ban Ki-Moon accepted the invitation.
