Armenian President Robert Kocharyan: "The so-called "Nagorno Garabagh Republic" takes an active part in the process of peaceful settlement of Nagorno Garabagh conflict"

The self-appointed "Nagorno Garabagh Republic" takes an active part in the process of peaceful settlement of Nagorno Garabagh conflict.

The due announcement was made by Armenian President Robert Kocharyan, Friday.  "The so-called "Nagorno Garabagh Republic" takes an active part in the process of the peaceful settlement of Nagorno Garabagh conflict", the Armenian President said.

He noted that by the end of 1990s the negotiation process on the Garabagh conflict settlement reached a deadlock and then he and President of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev intensified the negotiation process, which court have ended into the signing of an agreement in Ki-West in 2001.

"The talks froze before that and were at a deadlock. But there were no special decisions on the non-participation of  the so called "Nagorno Garabagh Republic"  and the so-called "Nagorno Garabagh Republic" is still inside the process", Kocharyan said.

The President of Armenia noted that the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairmen visit Khankendi during their visits to the region of the conflict and hold talks with the leadership of the "republic".

The so-called "Nagorno Garabagh Republic" also participates in the process, like the President of Armenia, merely there is aformat of negotiations between the Presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan in the general format of talks, in which participation of the President of the so-called "Nagorno Garabagh Republic is desirable", R.Kocharyan said.

It should be noted that the President assured that the final document will contain the signature of the so-called "Nagorno Garabagh Republic".
