"This year, some 31.5 percent of applicants have scored 0-100 points, 22.6 percent - 100-200 points, 18.2 percent - 200-300 points, 21.2 percent - 300-500 and 6.4 percent -500-700 during the entrance examinations. If some 5-10 percent of applicants scored 0-100 points, the results can be considered ideal," the SSAC Chairman, Maleyka Abbaszade told journalists.
Over 114,000 applicants have attended the entrance examinations this year and 66,621 of them are school-leavers of 2009.
Abbaszade said an average point of applicants was 180 points in the entrance examinations in 2009. "The state commission cannot estimate this figure, because over 120,000 pupils finished secondary schools in Azerbaijan and only half of them applied for universities," the SSAC chairman said.
She said the state commission jointly with the Education Ministry is conducting a large statistical analyses into final and entrance examinations. "The results of the analysis will be released iin October-November," Abbaszade said.
