Azerbaijani court rejects appeal of arrested bloggers' lawyer

The court rejected the appeal of the lawyer of Emin Milli (Abdullayev) and Adnan Hajizade to hold the meeting in larger hall of the Sabail District Court, to take photos and record video.

Emin Milli and Adnan Hajizade are charged with hooliganism and intentional infliction of minor bodily harm.

Hajizade's lawyer Isakhan Ashurov said that the rights of the accused were violated during the primary investigation and so they appealed to put an end to investigation and return them to the prosecutor's office.

Ashurov said that they demanded to pass strict resolution towards the investigator, inspector of the Sabail District Police Office, Ziya Aliyev, and regional prosecutor, Shirkhan Adigozalov.

However, the court did not satisfy this appeal.

The lawyers of the accused appealed to replace the arrest with a different punishment. The judges did not satisfy this appeal, too.

The first session of the trial on Hajizade and Milli will be held on Sept. 16.
