Azerbaijani embassy in Germany and EuroKaukAsia society held a scientific conference “Germans in the multiethnic life of the Caucasus” on the occasion of the 190th anniversary of Germans’ resettlement inAzerbaijan.
The conference was held in Berlin office of the federal state of Baden-Wurttemberg.
Press service of Azerbaijani embassy in Germany said the aim of the conference is to cover German colonies in the Caucasus, mainly in Azerbaijan and the following processes.
Experts from Germany, Azerbaijan, Russia and Turkey addressed the conference.
Baden-Wurttemberg Minister for State and European Affairs Wolfgang Reinhardt and Azerbaijani ambassador to Germany Parviz Shahbazov made speeches on the first day of the two-day conference.
President of EuroKaukAsia society Eva-Maria Auch made a speech and said deployment of German colonies in Azerbaijan was connected with Russia’s policy to settle Christian population in Azerbaijan.
Eva-Maria Auch underlined that therefore after the Turkmenchay treaty was signed in 1928, tens of thousands of Armenian families settled in the Caucasus, especially in Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijani embassy in Germany organized a reception for the participants of the conference.
