'Swine flu' cases keep on rising in Azerbaijan - UPDATE

Azerbaijan has confirmed one more ‘swine flu’ case, Azerbaijani Health Ministry Sanitary Epidemiological Control Department Chief Viktor Gasimov said.

“The patient is a Baku resident. His condition is satisfactory. He is undergoing treatment at the hospital,” Gasimov said.

The way he caught the virus is being defined, he added.

Eight more ‘swine flu’ cases have been confirmed in Azerbaijan, Azerbaijani Health Ministry Sanitary Epidemiological Department Chief Viktor Gasimov said.

New cases have been confirmed with three people who have arrived from Ukraine, one with a person who have arrived from Turkey and one is foreigner who has arrived from England. The remaining three have caught the disease from the infected individuals.

“The condition of all ‘swine flu’ patients are satisfactory. Two of them are in-patients and the rest are out-patients,” Gasimov said.

So, Azerbaijan’s ‘swine flu’ (A/H1N1) cases has risen to 13. Two cases were reported in July, two in October and the remaining in November.

Azerbaijani Health Ministry senior official Viktor Gasimov said condition of the ‘swine flu’-infected patients is improving.
 
He said new cases have not been revealed.

“The health of the two patients has not deteriorated. Their condition shows signs of improvement,” Gasimov said. 

Gasimov said the condition of the third patient is satisfactory.

“They have almost no signs of ‘swine flu’,” he added.

One of the Azerbaijani nationals who was tested positive for ‘swine flu’ has arrived from Ukraine by plane, Azerbaijani Health Ministry senior official Viktor Gasimov said.

He is about 30.

“He was diagnosed positive after he appealed doctors,” Gasimov said.

Two more ‘swine flu’ (A/H1N1) cases have been confirmed in Azerbaijan, Azerbaijani Health Ministry Spokesperson Anar Gadirli said.

One of the two ‘swine-flu’-infected individuals has arrived from Ukraine’s Ivano-Frankovsk province and also is a relative of the woman from Azerbaijan’s Kurdamir region who was previously tested positive. She has also arrived from Ukraine by train on Oct. 26.

She has been hospitalized and currently is under doctor’s control. Her condition is satisfactory.

The other individual tested positive is Azerbaijan national who arrived from Ukraine in Nov. His condition is satisfactory. 

So, Azerbaijan has three ‘swine-flu’ cases at present.

Azerbaijan has confirmed a new ‘swine flu’ case.

Head of the Hygiene and Epidemiological Department at the Azerbaijan Health Ministry Viktor Gasimov said A/H1N1 was confirmed with the Azerbaijani citizen.

“She arrived in Baku from Ukraine by train. Her condition is medium grave. She was hospitalized yesterday. Her health improves. The temperature has fell. The treatment continues,” Gasimov said.

A new ‘swine flu’ case has been confirmed in Azerbaijan, Azerbaijani Health Ministry Spokesman Anar Gadirli said.

Azerbaijani citizen who was diagnosed positive returned from Ukraine in late Oct.

Currently, the patient is under doctor’s control.
