Budapest hosts conference 'Azerbaijan-Hungary: dialogue of cultures'

The next section of the 4th International Scientific Conference from the series “Azerbaijan-Hungary: dialogue of cultures” was held in Budapest on Nov. 17.
Making a keynote speech at the conference Azerbaijani ambassador to Hungary Hasan Hasanov presented the honorary awards of the embassy to the professor of Hungarian Institute of Linguistics, member of Hungarian Academy of Sciences Giorgi Hazai and director of the ELTE Institute of Oriental Studies, Professor István Vásáry for their merits in promoting and developing relations between the two countries.

Following this, the letter of Hungarian Foreign Minister to the conference participants was read out.

The first day of the conference was dedicated to literature and linguistics.

Professor István Vásáry and vice-president of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, academician Naila Valikhanli chaired the meeting.

The second part of the international conference entitled “History, Archeology and Ethnology” will be held on Nov. 18.

Director of the European Folklore Institute Mihaly Hoppal, academician Naila Valikhanli will chair the meeting.

Scientists from Poland, Turkey, Czech Republic, Romania, Russia, Ukraine, Austria, Azerbaijan, Hungary, Kazakhstan attended the event.

The conference was held on the initiative of Azerbaijani embassy in Hungary, with support of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora, with participation of the Institute of Economy of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, Institute for World Economics of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Hungary-Azerbaijan Friendship Group of Azerbaijani parliament. The conference will end on Nov. 19.
