Istanbul's Bosphorus Strait, which connects the Black Sea with the Sea of Marmara, was closed on Wednesday due to heavy fog, a shipping agency said.

"The Strait of Bosphorus is suspended to all vessels ... due to heavy fog at Bosphorus and the time of the opening is not yet announced," GAC Turkey said in a statement, Reuters reported.
Turkey's Bosphorus and Dardanelles straits provide the only navigable waterways for oil-exporting Black Sea ports such as Poti, Supsa and Novorossiisk.
