581 people suffered from food poisoning in Azerbaijan this year

A total of 491 food poisoning cases were identified in Azerbaijan over the past 11 months and 581 people suffered from the food poisoning, chief of the nutrition hygienic sector of the Republican Sanitary and Epidemiology Center Imran Abdullayev said.

He said 18 botulism cases were identified with one of them being fatal.

One of the food poisoning cases was caused by food imported from Ukraine.

In another case, mass poisoning occurred among workers in Garadagh district.

As many as 489 cases had household character.
