Canadian newspaper publishes article about Baku

An article titled “Merci, Baku” has been published in the 12-23 December issue of the “Nasha Gazeta Montreal”, bimonthly Canadian Russian community newspaper.
Author Marina Velikanova shares impressions of her visit to Baku, the beauty and notable historical places of Azerbaijan`s capital.

Velikanova writes about the first opera theater in the whole East, which opened its doors to the public in Baku, building of the first railroad in USSR, history of the prominent Maiden Tower, famous Norwegian ethnographer and adventurer Thor Heyerdahl`s expedition to Azerbaijan, Baku fire-worshippers' temple, ecological tourism in Azerbaijan, beautiful regions of this country – Sheki, Naftalan and others.
