U.S. ambassador to Georgia John Bass has welcomed the reopening of the Upper Larsi-Kazbegi exit-point on Georgia-Russia border, saying this decision would significantly improve economic situation in the region.
Ambassador Bass said it was a very positive step, which would improve relations between the peoples living in the bordering regions, this is a very positive decision for each South Caucasian state.
"I think this is a very constructive step with these goals. The United States continues intensive friendship with Georgia and support to Georgia's sovereignty," Bass said.
