Baku hosts 1st Renewable Energy Caucasus Forum

The 1st Renewable Energy Caucasus Forum has kicked off in Azerbaijan`s capital.
The forum is co-organized by the Academy of European management and EVRA International, Inc. Speaking to the event, Ambassador Roland Kobia, Head of the European Union Delegation to Azerbaijan, stressed the importance of developing renewable energy sources. Kobia praised the Azerbaijan-EU energy cooperation, saying it is continuously strengthening.

The idea to hold the event was supported by the European Commission whose chief for environmental issues sent a letter to the forum`s organizers to express his backing.

The goals of the forum are: the further development and transfer of clean technologies, together with the acceleration of environmental business growth and supply base in the Caucasus Region; attracting oil and gas companies, banks and investment institutions to further successful investments in the renewable energy industry in the Caucasus Region as well as addressing timely restructuring in regards to climate change.

Participants include Caucasus & international governmental organizations, representatives of the EU, from the fields of Industry, banking, science as well as cleantech organizations, consulting and investment institutions, and universities.
