Azerbaijani Deputy Labour Minister: No problems with presidential decree on pensions

There will be no problems while executing Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev's decree to increase the basic pension from 75 to 85 manat, Azerbaijani Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Protection Ilgar Rahimov told media.

"There will be no problems while executing the presidential decree. Citizens will get the increased pensions in time," Rahimov said.

He said that all the issues related to the allocation the necessary funds for this purpose, have been agreed with the Ministry of Finance. The appropriate instructions have been given to local bodies of the Ministry of Labour.

President Aliyev signed the order dated August 31 "Increasing the minimal monthly wage and the basic pension".

The minimal monthly wage was fixed at 85 manat on September 1, 2010. The basic part of labor pension was fixed at a similar amount, the decree said. The State Fund chairman Salim Muslimov said that the basic pension of 1,116,000 people will rise by 10 manat.

"The base pension of 1,116,000 people will rise by 10 manat, 15 000 disabled people of the first group - 12 manat, 7,136 visually impaired people - 20 manat, 27,600 disabled people of the third group - 5,5 manat, 87,675 families with two or more children who lost their breadwinners - 5 manat, 78 family members of deceased national heroes - 20 manat, more than 19,000 families of martyrs - 18,5 manat, disabled veterans of the first group - 20 manat, disabled veterans of the second group - 17 manat, War Invalids of the third group - 15 manat, World War II veterans - 15 manat, World War II disabled of the first group - 24 manat, World War II disabled of the second group - 21 manat, World War II disabled of the third group - 19 manat, relatives of disabled people of the first and second groups - 11 manat, people subjected to political repression and later rehabilitated - 11 manat, war participants - 11 manat ", he said.

In general, roughly 12,4 million manat will be additionally allocated from the budget of the State Social Protection Fund to ensure these payments every month.

"Additional funds to the amount of 50 million manat will be required within four months by late 2010," Muslimov said.
