Azerbaijan marks outstanding religious leader's anniversary

Azerbaijan marked the 65th anniversary of the outstanding religious leader, Deputy Chairman of the Caucasian Muslims Office, rector of the Baku Islamic University Haji Sabir Hasanli. The Caucasian Muslims Office organized an event on this occasion.

The Caucasus Muslims Office Chairman Haji Allahshukur Pashazade, who addressed with an opening statement, noted that as a result of Haji Sabir's activity in the Soviet period the Caucasian Muslims Office became known.

Sheikh also said Haji Sabir enjoys great love in Azerbaijani society for his activities. "His work was highly appreciated also by the Azerbaijani Government. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev awarded him the Order of "Shohrat" ("Glory"), " Pashazade said.
