Cattle to be vaccinated against anthrax in Azerbaijan

Vaccination against anthrax among cloven-hoofed animals in Azerbaijan will be carried out in two phases next year, a source in State Veterinary service said.  

Big-horned cattle will be vaccinated in the first quarter while fine cattle will be vaccinated against the disease in the second quarter. This year all cattle were vaccinated against anthrax.

Anthrax is an acute infectious disease with most forms being lethal. It commonly infects wild and domesticated herbivorous mammals which ingest or inhale the spores while grazing.
