Azerbaijani minister proposes to reduce competitive scores in high schools

28 December 2010 [15:23] - TODAY.AZ
Azerbaijani Education Minister Misir Mardanov has given a proposal to reduce the competitive scores for university admission in country's regions.

"Conditions in the universities' branches in the regions differ from metropolitan universities. We made a similar proposal, but whether it will be taken into account, does not depend on us," he said.

Mardanov also proposed to provide compensation for the budget of those students who are IDPs and have been given exemption in tuition fees. "We would like the budget to provide compensation for the students in this category," he added.

He said the process of eviction of IDPs from student dormitories will begin in 2011, and Baku State University's dormitory will be the first place from where the eviction process will start.
