Novruz to be celebrated in Murmansk

The Novruz Bayrami, a traditional holiday which celebrates the New Year, and the coming of spring in Azerbaijan and many other parts of the world, will be marked in Murmansk, a city in the extreme northwest part of Russia.

The celebrations will take place on March 18 at Lapland Palace, according to Alihuseyn Shukurov, member of the Azerbaijan Diaspora in RF.

The program includes interesting performances of Tatar, Jewish, Belarus, Russian, Uzbek and other folk groups, exhibitions, Azerbaijan cookery parties, national souvenir fairs and a concert featuring Azerbaijan singers and dancers.

Representatives of the city administration, members of the Russian Parliament, Azerbaijan community and press are expected to attend the event.
