
Minister of Culture and Tourism Abulfas Garayev met with Director of Louvre Museum Henri Loyrette. French Ambassador to Azerbaijan Gabriel Keller also attended the meeting.
Expressing his pleasure to see the guest in Azerbaijan again, Abulfas Garayev said close cooperation was established with the Louvre Museum after the previous visit of Henri Loyrette to Baku. According to Minister, bilateral cooperation has recently enhanced between Azerbaijan and France, the presidents are broadly cooperating in various spheres.
"After Azerbaijan’s First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva was elected head of France-Azerbaijan friendship group, the cultural relations between the two countries are on the highest level. The cooperation between the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and Louver Museum has a special place among these relations. We will launch new projects with Louvre Museum towards the promotion of Azerbaijani culture," he said.
Henri Loyrette said he is pleased to visit Azerbaijan again after four years. Mentioning his first visit to Baku in 2007, director of the museum said there was much development in the country. Henri Loyrette said he got familiarized with the new building of State Museum of Azerbaijani Carpet and Applied Art. "I offered director of the museum to start joint activities after the opening, start cooperation with the carpet museum. Moreover, we are thinking of displaying exhibits of the Louvre Museum," he said.
Henri Loyrette said he enjoys the Azerbaijani culture.
