Giant 55-Foot Unidentifiable Behemoth washed up on Chinese shore

20 June 2011 [14:48] - TODAY.AZ
In America we have the corpses of whales washing up on our beaches. In China, the have 55-foot long unidentifiable fish washing up on theirs.

On the shore of a beach in Guangdong, China, the decaying remains of a fish have piqued the interest of anyone who finds the decaying remains of giant fish interesting. Despite the fact that the corpse of this unfortunate fish has been letting off a stench that is no doubt horribly offensive to our delicate olfactory senses, people have going to the beach in droves to see it for themselves.

The fish, which was discovered on April 25, was found tied up in ropes, lending credence to the theory that it was caught by fisherman but ultimately abandoned due to its weight. It then washed up on shore.

Unfortunately, since the fish, which a local newspaper estimated as weighing approximately five tons, or 10,000 pounds, was in a state of severe decay when it was found, identifying it has proven to be troublesome. My bet is that it came from the depths of R’lyeh.
