Russia reportedly threatens to cut electricity to Azerbaijan

22 November 2006 [22:46] - TODAY.AZ
Russia has reportedly told Azerbaijan it may cut electricity by 80 percent next year because of a shortage of electricity at home.

An official with the state power company Azerenergy said the warning came from Russia's electricity monopoly Unified Energy System.

Azerbaijan says it may also receive less gas from Russia next year.
