Azeri chess players join int'l tournament

Chess players Gadir Huseynov, Rauf Mammadov and Eltaj Safarli are representing Azerbaijan at the international tournament “Aeroflot Open” started today in Russian capital Moscow.
Another chess player Namig Guliyev is competing in B group.

Three Open Tournaments (A, B and C) are made up according to the rating of the participants. Naturally, the greatest interest is aroused by A tournament, requiring from a participant a rating above 2550 and usually boasting a number of extra class players.

In addition to the Open Tournaments, a Blitz Tournament will be held within the festival. The Organizers of the Festival are the "Aeroflot-Russian Airlines", the Association of Chess Federations and the Russian Chess Federation. The Swiss system contest is held in nine rounds.
