Azerbaijan to vie for world Paralympic judo medals

Azerbaijan's paralympic judo fighters will compete in the world championship kicking off in Antalya, Turkey, on Thursday.

In the men`s event Azerbaijan will field Jeyhun Muradov and Emin Ibrahimov weighing in at 60kg, Ilkin Alyshov at 66kg, Natig Novruzzade at 73kg, Rovshan Safarov at 81kg, Tofig Mammadov at 90kg, Khayal Ganiyev at 100kg and Ilham Zakiyev at over 100kg.

In the women`s event Azerbaijan`s hopes will be pinned on Afag Sultanova and Chinara Rzazade who will compete in the 57kg and 78kg divisions respectively.

The Antalya tournament is a first qualifying event for the 2012 Summer Paralympic Games in London.
