Azerbaijani team wins the International Judo Tournament in Baku

The 33rd International Judo Tournament (dedicated to Maj.-Gen Hazi Aslanov), wrapped up in Baku. The tournament brought together over 200 judo fighters from Azerbaijan, Turkey, Russia, Georgia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Iran.

Rabia Batur from Turkey (36 kg), Chinare Guliyeva (40 kg), Tatyana Yepifancheva (44 kg), Aygun Mammadova (48 kg), Nazakat Khalilova (52 kg), Sabina Ajdarova (576 kg) from Azerbaijan, Hulya Sarioglu (63 kg) from Turkey and Elena Kebadze (over 70 kg) from Georgia have won gold in women’s tournament.

Men’s tournament featured Jeyhun Gatayev (60 kg), Nazir Alisultanov (66 kg), Jalil Jalilov (73 kg), Amiraslan Ahmadov (90 kg) from Azerbaijan, Giorgi Jibladze (81 kg), and Karlo Nemsijveridze (90 kg) from Georgia. All of them have won gold.

The Azeri national team has won the first place with 12 gold, 14 silver and 14 bronze medals. Georgian team took the second place, while Turkey came third.
