Azerbaijani female wrester into European semi-final

Azerbaijan's wrestler Sona Ahmadly has reached the women`s 59 kg class semi-final of the European championship in Baku.

Ahmadly secured the spot after beating Norway`s Gudrun Hoie.

In the last four round Ahmadly will lock horns with the winner of Andrea Elena Simon (Romania)-Meryem Selloum Fatah (France) encounter.

In the 67 kg division, Azerbaijan's hopes are pinned on Nadejda Sementsova who launched a successful run after defeating Mcmamus Ashlea Kristin in the opening bout.

Sementsova will next take on Sandra Marie Sofie Makela of Sweden.

Another Azeri wrestler Anjela Dorogan pulled out of the medal race after losing her opening encounter to French Aurelie Basset in the 51 kg division.
