Azerbaijani boxers have gained 15 medals at an international tournament to commemorate the 87th anniversary of national leader Heydar Aliyev in Baku.
Gold medals came from Huseyn Narimanli weighing in at 46 kg, Ramal Yusifzadeh at 54 kg, Farid Ismayilov at 62 kg, Alim Abbasov at 64 kg, Sadig Salahli at 66 kg and Rauf Rahmanov at 75 kg.
Goshgar Safarli, Telman Gafarli and Nabi Bagirov garnered silver medals in th 50 kg, 54 kg and 60 kg categories respectively, while Kamran Malikov weighing in at 46 kg, Jeyhun Ibrahimli at 48 kg, Parviz Bagirov at 57 kg, Elvin Ahmadli at 60 kg, Umid Kazimov at 80 kg and Sabir Mammadov at over 80 kg won bronzes.
The tournament brought together 134 boxers from 8 countries. Azerbaijan ranked first in the medal table, followed by Russia and Turkey.
