Baku to host Azerbaijani rhythmic gymnastics championship

The competition will be attended by 27 gymnasts, both seniors and sportswomen born in 1995-1997. The gymnasts will compete for medals and the personal all-around and individual finals, the Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation reported.

Aliya Garayeva is the current champion and she is preparing to defend her title for the second time. Grayeva regards Anna Gurbanova, who so far has won championships in only a few specials, as her main rival.

The gymnasts of the Baku Gymnastics Academy, Republican comprehensive sports school and club Neftchi, as well as athletes of the Spartacus and Sarhadchi sport complexes also will attend the event. Representatives of the Ganja and Mazasir sports schools will perform at the gala concert with exponential numbers.
