Azerbaijan rowers won a bronze at the third stage of the World Cup held in the German city of Duisburg, National Rowing Federation of Azerbaijan said.
In the race for 200 meters duo Sergey Bezugliy - Maxim Prokopenko ranked first, and received the right to participate directly in the main final. In the decisive race the couple won bronze scoring in 38 seconds 909 microseconds.
The race for 1,000 meters was also successful for Sergey Bezugliy - Maxim Prokopenko. Ranking the second in the qualifying round, the couple won the right to participate in the final stage, which will be held today. And our other athlete - Andrei Kraytor in the race at the same distance ranked the fourth and won the right to participate in the semifinals. At the next step, he became the 8th of 9 and could not participate in the final. Kraytor ranked 15th from 25 participants in the final.
June 6, Andrei Kraytor and duo Sergey Bezugliy - Maxim Prokopenko will take part in the race for 500 meters. Azerbaijan is represented at the Worls Cup by three rowers- Andrei Kraytor (single canoe) and duo Sergey Bezugliy and Maxim Prokopenko (double canoe).
