Japanese sensei Hitoschi Kasuya hosted a karate workshop in Baku

A 2-day workshop for karate coaching certification was hosted in Baku, according to Azerbaijan's National Karate Federation's message. The workshop was hosted by 8th degree sensei Hitoschi Kasuya from Japan.

Sensei Hitoschi Kasuya was born in Tokyo on the 23rd February 1948. It was when he attended Wased University at the age of 17 that Karuya Sensei Setoguchi (head Coach of the JKF) and Sensei Ito who was the JKA national secretary whilst he was an undergraduate at Hosei University.

In 1974 Kasuya graduated from the infamous JKA instructors course along with another famous Shotokan master, Sensei Mori. At the JKA, Kasuya Sensei studied under the JKA Chief Instructor Master Nakayama, plus other senior masters Shoji Sensei and Ueki Sensei.

During the 1970’s Kasuya was a member of the famous JKA Kata and Kumite teams both in 1975 and 1977.

As a result of the workshop, 3 Azerbaijani masters upgraded their degrees. Yusif Mammadov and Akhmed Gatamov are now both of 7th degree, and Arif Mammadov is 4th.
