Azeri grandmaster beats his Armenian rival

Azerbaijan's grandmaster Gadir Huseynov has defeated Armenian Tigran Kotanjyan in the 19th Fajr international tournament in Mashhad, Iran.

Other Azeri chess players Nijat Mammadov and Logman Guliyev beat Iranian Morteza Darban and Moshtaba Hollasi Mud respectively.

After 7 rounds, Dutch Sergei Tiviakov leads the table with 6.5 points. The tournament brings together 247 players from 15 countries.
