"500 days to London-2012 Olympic Games" campaign: Final event held in Azerbaijan

Within the campaign "500 days to London-2012 Olympic Games" The British Embassy to Azerbaijan held the final event in Baku Business Centre.

The British ambassador to Azerbaijan Carolyn Browne who participated in the event said that the British people is ready to the hold the Olympic Games and receive the guests. The ambassador said that the Paralympic games had started after the London-1948 Olympic Games.

Azerbaijani Minister of Youth and Sports Azad Rahimov said that for the purpose of preparation for the Olympic Games the international incentive program had been carried out in 5 pilot countries, including Azerbaijan. Talking about Azerbaijan’s achievements the minister said that this tradition would continue and Azerbaijan athletes would win more medals in London Olympic.

In the event the persons who participated in the different competitions, including a winner of the “online” competition, held from February 23 till March 10, who gained 2 tickets and a chance to watch a live the London-2012 Olympic Games, got rewarded.
