Azeri chess player succeeds in Kavala tournament

Azerbaijani chess player Nijat Mammadov represented Azerbaijan successfully in Kavala chess festival, held in Greece finishing 0.5 points clear of the winners.

Serbian chess grandmaster Solak Dragan and Pole Mateus Bartel garnered 7 points out of 9 to climb the highest step on the podium.

The Swiss system contest was held in nine rounds.
