Monthly deflation reaches 0.3% in Azerbaijan

Prices for consumer goods and services decreased by 0.3 percent in July 2016 in Azerbaijan compared to June 2016, said the country’s State Statistics Committee Aug. 11.

Prices for food products decreased by 1.6 percent in July 2016 compared to June, non-food products – increased by 0.2 percent, and the cost of paid services rendered to the population rose by 1 percent.

Over the seven months of 2016, prices for consumer goods and services increased by 10.6 percent in Azerbaijan compared to the same period of 2015. Prices for food products increased by 12 percent, non-food products – by 15.5 percent, and the cost of paid services – by 4.7 percent.
