Azeri GDP rose 8.5% in January-February 2005

In January to February 2005 the amount of the Gross Domestic Product of Azerbaijan has comprised 7031.8bn manats ($1434.4m at average exchange rate of 4902.2 AzM/USD fixed in January and February.
The State Statistics Committee told Trend it was 8.5% more than 2003 (5695bn manats).

In 2005 the GDP is forecasted at 47.8trln manats with a rise of 14.1%, while the GDP comprised only 14.71% of the 2005 forecast and growth pace turned out 5.6% down. In this period the per capita GDP made up 854,000 manats ($174.2) with a rise of 7.4% as compared to 2003. The forecast for a year comprises 5799,600 manats ($1177.6). Index of GDP deflator in Azerbaijan comprised 13.8% against 0% in 2003 ???. The annual deflator rate comprises 4%.

In January to February value added production comprised 3141.3bn manats (44.7% of the GDP) in industry, 130.6bn manats (1.9%) in agriculture, 718bn manats in construction sector (10.2%), 517.2bn manats (7.4%) in transport sector 218.4bn manats (3.1%) in the communications sector, 625.5bn manats (8.9%) in the retail and wholesale trade, 1123.1bn manats (15.8%) in social services sector.

In February the share of production sector in the structure of the GDP grew from 54.4% (1963.7bn manats) to 56.8% (3989.9bn manats), services dropped from 40.3% (1071.6bn manats) to 36.2% (2551.2bn manats), net production and import taxes reduced from 7.5% (245bn manats) to 7% (490.6bn manats).
