More than 22 million compulsory medical insurance (CMI) services were provided by state medical institutions to the population in Azerbaijan in 2021, Zaur Aliyev, chairman of the board of the State Agency for Compulsory Health Insurance, said, Trend reports.
Aliyev made the remark at a press conference, dedicated to the agency’s activity in 2021 and in the first three months of 2022, in Baku on May 2.
According to him, during the mentioned period, the number of services in the field of surgery, provided in private medical institutions with which the agency has concluded contracts, has reached 27,305.
"Thus, in territories where compulsory health insurance is applied, 42 percent of the population used medical services. The medical services provided within the package of services ensured the examination and treatment of the most common diseases among the population, as well as diseases associated with the risk of disability and death," Aliyev said.
