Azerbaijan says growth in number of compulsory health insurance services possible

The Azerbaijani State Agency for Compulsory Health Insurance (CHI) has prepared and submitted a bill on amendments for the CHI service package to the relevant structure, Zaur Aliyev, board chairman of the agency, said, Trend reports.

Aliyev made the remark at a press conference on the agency’s activities in 2021 and in the first three months of 2022 in Baku on May 2.

According to him, it’s planned to include 700 medical services in the package of services, while totally, more than 3,000 medical services are provided within the CHI.

"It was proposed to increase the number of cochlear implantation operations to 400 (previously 300), and for endoprosthetics - up to 1200 (previously 300),” the official noted.

“Tariffs have been increased for more than 1,000 services paid by the agency to medical institutions for primary care, emergency medical care, laboratory, outpatient and inpatient medical services," added Aliyev.
