Privatization proposals of Baku Automatic Telephone Unit to be prepared

As APA reports, the Ministry has already been given respective instructions in this connection.

It is necessary to privatize BATU, because its activity became limited. So, increasing of cellular communication operators in number, application of the CDMA technology restricted services provided by BATU. Although BATU does not operate at a loss, it can not fulfill tariff income forecasts in full volume.

It is also informed that several enterprises had already applied to the Ministry for obtaining licenses necessary to install payphones in Baku.
