As APA reports, land areas in Azerbaijan become deserts in Azerbaijan affected by climatic changes in some areas. Garib Mammadov, the Head of the State Committee of Azerbaijan for Lands and Cartography, has told reporters about.
Mr. Mammadov says that there are 3,7 thousand hectares less-productive and none-productive lands, 150 thousand hectares hydro reservoir lands, 2,3 million hectares winter and spring pastures (1,8 million hectares winter pastures, 0,5 million hectares spring pastures) in the country area.
"Azerbaijan is included into the group of countries which have little land areas. Nevertheless, it happens that an enterprise or a mansion is built on productive areas. The land loses the productivity that way."
The whole area of Azerbaijan is 8,6 million hectares.
