Payment of gas fees reaches 40% in Azerbaijan

"If this figure was 16% only in January, it has reached 40% now. We hope that we will achieve maximal collection of gas fees by this year's end. Main part of the debts is the debt of people. But there is improvement in this field. People already know that supply of gas will be stopped if they don't pay the fees on time."

Azerigas President also said that since March 1 a decision has already been made to stop collection of gas fees by various representatives in 40 regions. April 1 analogical decision has been taken applicable to Baku and Sumgait.

Gas fees have to be paid through branches of banks and that step will prevent negative cases, APA reports.
