Explosion causes fire on BTC

An explosion has caused a huge fire on a newly inaugurated Caspian Sea pipeline to Turkey.

The cause isn't immediately clear, but autonomy-seeking Kurdish rebels are active in the region. Private NTV television says sabotage is suspected, the Associated Press reports.

The pipeline carries oil from Azerbaijan. Some 430-thousand barrels of oil flow through it each day.
