Azeri Parliament passes rate of excise duties for imported cars

Parliament has approved the amendments to the Tax Code.

The excise duties for engines of up-to 3,000 cu cm will be AZN 300 + AZN 1 per cu cm of 2,001 to 3,000 cu m, for engines of up-to 4,000 cu m will be AZN 1,300 +AZN 1 per cu cm of the capacity between 3,001 cu m through 4,000 cu m, for engines of over 4,000 cu m will be AZN 3,300 + AZN 4 per cu cm of the capacity over 4,000 cu m.

The excise duties for yachts and sports and other transport facilities will be AZN 1 per cubic cm.

The amendments to the Tax Code have been passed after discussion. The amendments are effective from 2007, APA reports.
