Azerigas to cut off gas supply to regions in debt

Azerigas has warned regions that it would cut off natural gas supply, from Dec. 25, to the regions where collection of gas bills is under 60%.

Azerigas Gas Supply Officer Vagif Namazov told APA that none of the regions were left without gas this month because the collection was 60.1% last month.

Namazov said that gas supply to the heating boilers will be suspended from January 1, and the central heating systems will run on other fuel.

"The reason is unsatisfactory payment of the bills, gas robbery, consumption bypassing gas meters, a large amount of debts," he underlined.
