Trial of 7 Barmek officers to be over

The trial of 7 Barmek-Azerbaijan Electric Network officers in Republic Prosecutors Office Fight against Corruption Department is finishing.

Avocate Abbas Atakishiyev told APA that company president Huseyn Arabul cannot be accused and is not forbidden to leave the country.

"Huseyn Arabul should not leave the country as handover process is ongoing," he said.

Huseyn Arabul stated that he received no information about trial procedure. The handover between the government and Barmek has already finished but the final report has not been signed at the Ministry of Economical Development.

Barmek vice-president Omer Guner, technical director Vefa Agayev, his assistant Chingiz Abdullayev, sales manager Valeh Zeynalov, security service chief Aseger Aserzade, former chief manager Chingiz Ibadov and Mahir Novruzov are accused under articles 179.2 (embezzlement and misuse), 308 (abuse of power) and 313 (negligence) of the Criminal Code.
