Communications services increase by 24%

Communications services provided for the legal entities and individuals in Azerbaijan amounted to AZN $571.8mln during 2006, up 24% from the previous year. Privately owned communications entities provided 72.4% of the services (+24.1%).

The incomes came 3/4 from services provided for population, State Statistical Committee told APA.
 
The amount of cellular services income grew by 23%, year-over-year, making up 65.4% of all communications services. Cell-phone customers rose 1.1mln to 3.3mln people during this period and mobile phone numbers per 100 people reached 39.
