Currency disintegration equipment to be delivered this week

National Bank of Azerbaijan has bought currency shredding devices and granulators from the Kusters Engineering to destroy old banknotes. The granulating devices will be delivered to Baku this week.

National Bank's official Hajibaba Masimov told the APA that the currency processing systems will be tested and installed in the Bank.

He said the old currency notes are some 400 tons in weight. The old currency notes will be completely destroyed.

The shreds of destroyed banknotes are burned or purchased by businessmen to use in the furniture industry.
