Industry zone likely to be established in Sumgait

"Technical and economic assessment has been implemented on the creation of free economic zone and industrial area in Sumgait, while no serious activities are ongoing on the issue," Sumgait Executive Committee Chairman Vagif Aliyev said.

He told APA 32 hectares of land in the coastal territory have been allotted for economic zone.

"Sumgait has lots of enterprises and qualified personnel. These opportunities enable to quickly rehabilitate enterprises and infrastructure. Because of ecological situation, establishment of the industrial area can be considered," he said.

He noted Sumgait Port can be built following the free economic zone.
